Fundamentals of Writing 2 (FOW 2), is a continuation
course designed to follow FOW 1 by cementing composition and editing
skills necessary to successfully write at a High School level while
introducing essay and literature analysis.

English 1 Students will learn to apply grammar/editing skills, vocabulary and stylistic techniques to create essays with mature sentence structure, and to clearly communicate their ideas in a variety of writing models. Students will also be introduced to literary elements, figures of speech and types of poetry in order to enhance their writing skills and to increase their comprehension of literary works. (for new students unfamiliar with IEW techniques, reluctant writers, or students who have completed FOW1 with recommendation of the teacher)

American, British and World Lit

American, British and World Literature are meant to move
the child toward independent college level essays. Students will
analyze, interpret and evaluate complex narratives.
Prerequisites: English 1 and/or English 2 and instructor approval.
